I loved Renaissance Fairs as a kid. I have even staffed a few, my first was in sixth grade as a school fund raiser. That was immense fun, complete with a complex, hundreds-of-dollars to make, maze. Then I worked in the local one a couple of times in high school. No, there really aren't many short Asian girls in Renaissance Europe, but it was still fun. Go into it thinking of it as fun, and not some nerd LARP thing. The Maryland Renaissance Festival occurs during the week-ends in the fall. The last week-end is the week-end of October 22nd. The festival is open every day scheduled, rain or shine. The festival is located right outside of Annapolis, about an hour away from DC. Come with money, cold hard cash. It is not cheap, admission for adults is $17 and food in the festival grounds is not inexpensive.

Sounds like a great experience to me. I really enjoyed acting in my 6th grade play of Much Ado About Nothing. I should have pursued a career in acting. Thanks for the information, maybe i'll visit a Renaissance Fair soon.
